Caskey Torah Academy: Robotics Module 1: "Build a "Better" Mousetrap."
It’s not really a “better” mousetrap. Though it is non-lethal, it’s complicated and expensive.
But it is a great way to get started in robotics, circuitry, programming and 3D printing.
“Build a Better Mousetrap” is 8-10 week afterschool module that lets students test drive their inventive creativity.
Each week, students learn how to control devices (servo motors, potentiometers, LEDs) and sensors (photoresistors and distance/motion detectors). Each week, students will add new skills and components to their personal toolkit.
Each student will receive: 1.class notes and instruction 2. An microcontroller and electronics kit that expands each week with new devices and sensors 3. A thumb drive for saving standard programs that can modified for future uses. 4. A battery-powered, programmed, non-lethal mousetrap (An Arduino Nano, breadboard, circuitry wiring, a USD, servo motor and 3D printed parts.
